LIFE “GREENCHANGE”

U-Space is co-financing  partner of the LIFE GREENCHANGE project (Green infrastructures for increasing biodiversity in Agro Pontino and Maltese rural areas), funded by the LIFE Nature and Biodiversity 2017 Programme. The project aims to protect biodiversity and increase the ecological value of the agroecosystems in the Agro Pontino in Italy and in the Maltese rural areas. The project makes use of strategies to integrate the objectives of ecological functionality of agroecosystems in decision-making processes; involve public bodies, management authorities and farmers; evaluate ecosystem services; promote land stewardship agreements; strengthen green infrastructures; mitigate the impacts of agricultural practices in agro-environment systems.

U-Space is responsible for the following activities:

• mapping and evaluation of ecosystem services;
• design of demonstration projects;
• project’s communication plan;
• monitoring of project.
