“Mobilatina”

This project has been co-financed by the Italian Ministry of Environment within a programme aimed at improving air quality and transport in urban areas. U-Space has been responsible for planning the itineraries of the “Walking Bus”. The Walking Bus is an alternative form of student transport for schoolchildren who, chaperoned by adults, walk to school and back home on fixed itineraries. The testing of the Walking Bus service has involved several groups of children attending the primary schools of the Municipality of Latina.
Starting from the collection and analysis of data concerning the transport habits of the participating families and on their addresses, the Walking Bus lines and stops have been planned, also optimising the itineraries according to the travel times and the necessities in terms of safety. U-Space’s activities have also entailed the graphic design of the maps and the road signs.
